Mr. McMahon became the new ECW World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Bobby Lashley in a 3-on-1 handicap match with his partners Shane McMahon and Umaga. Bobby Lashley defeated Mr. McMahon in an "Extreme Street Fight" for the ECW World Title despite repeated interferences from Shane McMahon and Umaga during their match at WWE One Night Stand. The ECW World Title was vacated by Mr. McMahon when Bobby Lashley was drafted to RAW from ECW. Lashley was stripped of the title and a match was scheduled for WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions to determine a new ECW World Heavyweight Champion. Johnny Nitro defeated CM Punk for the vacated ECW World Title at WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions. Nitro replaced Chris Benoit who was scheduled to face off against CM Punk when Benoit had to fly back home to tend to a family emergency.
